Colonel John Shelton was our guest speaker on Tuesday 5/24.  Colonel Shelton was a P3 pilot for the U.S. Navy.  The P3, known as the "sub hunter", is used by the U.S. Navy to locate enemy submarines.  Over 700 P3's have been built since the 1960's!

Colonel Shelton shared many exciting stories with us!  He explained how the P3 would drop "sensors" into the water and then monitor the sensors from the air.  When a sensor would pick-up an underwater signal, the P3 would notify nearby ships of the incoming threat.

Thank you, Colonel Shelton, for your service to our country and for taking the time to speak at our club meeting!
