Please join us this Tuesday, Oct 10th at 7:15a at Eggtc! (I-435 and Midland Dr) for our October breakfast meeting!

Our featured speaker will be Rotary District Governor Adam Ehlert.

Transplanted from Minnesota, Adam and his family brought the T-Bones Baseball Club to Kansas City, Kansas, in October 2002, after having owned and operated the team in Duluth, Minnesota, as the Duluth-Superior Dukes for two years prior.

In its 14 years at CommunityAmerica Ballpark, the team has made five playoff appearances, won one championship in 2008 and has been a pioneering success in promotions and family-friendly entertainment that have resulted in record-setting attendance. The T-Bones have been named the league’s Organization of the Year four times. Committed to its community, the club honors Veterans, First Responders, Service Agencies and other nonprofit groups through special events and recognition at the Ballpark.

Adam serves locally on the TURF (T-Bones Uncommitted Recreation Fund) Council and the Mayor’s Health Council. He is a Charter Member, past President and Director of the Village West Rotary Club. In the spring of 2012, Adam led a Rotary International exchange trip to Finland. He is a certified facilitator for the Rotary Leadership Institute, and will serve as District Governor for the 45 Rotary clubs that make up the state’s eastern district in 2017-18.

In the months outside the baseball season, Adam and his wife enjoy rooting for the Minnesota Twins of Adam’s native Minneapolis and the Kansas Jayhawks of Heather’s alma mater. Ehlert is a graduate (B.A., Political Science) of that other basketball powerhouse, American University in Washington, D.C. He and Heather, a nonprofit consultant, live in Overland Park, Kansas, with Moxie, their seven-year-old Doberman. When not cheering on his favorite teams or volunteering, Adam’s other interests include reading, tennis, running, golf and trying to keep his heart strong and in proper rhythm.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday morning!
